Grow a Garden Mutations Guide: Every Multiplier
Mutations are the fastest way to raise crop value in Grow a Garden. There are two kinds: exclusive growth mutations like Gold and Rainbow, and stackable environmental mutations like Wet, Frozen, and Shocked. The two types of mutations
Grow a Garden mutations split into two groups that behave differently in the value math. Getting this split right is the difference between a rough guess and an accurate price.
Growth mutations are exclusive
Growth mutations describe the crop's overall quality, and a crop can only have one at a time. Normal, Silver, Gold, and Rainbow are the growth tiers. A Rainbow crop is never also Gold, because the higher tier replaces the lower one.
Environmental mutations stack
Environmental mutations come from weather, events, and effects, and a single crop can carry several at once. Wet, Chilled, Frozen, Shocked, and others all add together. This is why heavily mutated crops reach such huge values.
Growth mutation multipliers
Growth mutations multiply value directly. Because only one applies, you simply use its multiplier. These are community estimates and can change with updates.

Gold versus Rainbow
Gold multiplies value by about twenty times, and Rainbow by about fifty. Rainbow is far rarer, so most players aim for Gold on common crops and save Rainbow hopes for their best plants. Our guide on how to get Gold and Rainbow mutations covers the methods.
Why only one growth mutation applies
Growth tiers replace each other, so you never multiply Gold and Rainbow together. When you select a growth mutation in the calculator, it swaps out any other growth tier automatically.
Environmental mutation multipliers
Environmental mutations are where value explodes, because they stack. The table lists common ones by their community-estimated multiplier.

Weather mutations
Weather mutations like Wet, Chilled, and Frozen appear during matching in game weather. They are the most common way to add a multiplier, and they can appear together during mixed weather. Read more in our weather and event mutations guide.
Event mutations
Event mutations like Shocked, Celestial, and Disco come from limited events and carry the biggest multipliers. They are rare, so a crop that catches one during an event becomes a prime trade piece.
How mutations stack in the value formula
The two types combine in one clear formula. Growth multiplies once, and all environmental bonuses add together inside a single bracket.
Value = Base value x (Weight / Base weight) squared x Growth x (1 + sum of environmental bonuses) x Amount
The additive stacking rule
Each environmental mutation adds its multiplier minus one to a shared bonus sum. A Wet crop adds 1, a Frozen crop adds 9, a Shocked crop adds 99. If a crop is Wet and Frozen, the environmental multiplier is 1 plus 1 plus 9, which is 11 times, not 20 times.
A worked example
Take a Gold crop that is also Wet and Frozen. Growth gives 20x. Environmental gives 1 plus 1 plus 9, which is 11x. Together the mutation effect is 20 times 11, or 220 times the weight adjusted base value. You can confirm any combination like this in the crop value calculator.
